Boycott Watchmen Movie for Alan

Calling for a boycott of the 2009 movie release of the Watchmen
Alan Moore has stated since the release of the From Hell and LXG that he wanted nothing to do with Hollywood. He demanded that his name be removed form any movie based on his work and that he not be paid for the movie even. Its a shame when an artist work is bastardized to just make a fucking buck. With ever work he has done that is owned by DC, whom is owned by Warner Brothers, they have twisted it just to make it into a movie to sell tickets. Its one thing when the creator is down to do this but when one is so adamant that it not be done that he even refuses his money for the adaptation cuz he wants his work to stay the great thing it was....it just makes me sick. They turned From Hell into crap, changed the character to be something that Johny Depth could play...LXG man this one is such a shame, the comics are soooooo great really they are, but this movie just changed shit and made it horrible. They even added into two characters for no damn reason.....V...V V V...this book was about an anarchist in BRITAIN and Moore's views on what is wrong with Britain and what will happen to it as it continues where its going. He worked on this story for around 10 years, it was in publication for 6 of those. And it was twisted by the shit heads that did the matrix (bad enough they brought that shit to the world..) to reflect their political ideals. When as Moore has stated they could have just made up their damn story to do so. Now they are out for possibly Moore's most celebrated work, The Watchmen. This is one of the greatest comics ever done. It was made in the 80's and brought things to comics no one else had thought to. It was about super heroes that were as human as you and I. It explored real world situations with those that dress in suits and capes or that had godly powers, how would this truly affect someone that was normal to know run around in a tights with a cape, or one who can create matter with his mind. It was genius. Today its still required reading on any fan of the comic book medium. Now WB seeks to make it into a movie...got to sell those tickets. The Watchmen was so great and so important to so many people simply because it is what it is as a COMIC BOOK. If you pull this work into any other medium it doesn't work. Its not important like is as a comic. Its not as revolutionary. It brought writing techniques to comics that had not be explored by its writers. It brought a realness and seriousness to the genre. And this asinine argument that the movie will bring people into reading the actual book or into respecting the comic book medium for more then just your Superman style characters is bullshit. You know as well as I do that if someone watches a movie based on a writing of any kind, they will leave it at the movie. The breed of people that would actually read what it was based on is very rare, to nearly none. Everyone else will write it off as just a superhero movie.
I would like to call for everyone, anyone with any respect for the original work, for Alan Moore himself, anyone that themselves is an artist (yes writers are artist too), anyone that has ambition to create a world and to one day share it with thousands of others, anyone that fears their dreams being used to sell a random consumer product, anyone that cares about an artist's wishes, all of you jackasses that shovel your hard earned money into Hollywood's pocket every week to see what new movie they are putting out that week (even though it always a recycled story from another medium that has been defecated upon) for lake of anything better to do...I'm asking for you to skip this one. Do not pay Hollywood for what they are doing. Do not see Watchmen. For the two hours and 10 or more bucks you would waste on it, go buy a copy of the damn graphic novel and read it. Go write your own story, or create something in whatever your medium of choice is. I would like to ask for you to extend this to every movie coming out till they stop recycling the same shit and forcing it down your throat but I know that's probably to much to ask of you. Film is a GREAT medium, its time it was started to be treated as such and artist are allowed to make art with it and stead of selling other's ideas to make a buck. If you have to just watch a movie then find one that is truly an original story not based on anything or inspired by some real events or whatever lie they put on it. These films are the only ones you should support anyway....
